UN eccezione è un errore indesiderato e inaspettato generato nel programma. Nella maggior parte dei casi, si verifica un'eccezione quando è presente un errore nel nostro codice ma può essere gestito. Interrompe il normale flusso del codice.
Ad esempio, il codice genera un'eccezione se l'utente ha inserito informazioni non valide, se il codice non è in grado di leggere il file situato nel luogo remoto o se la connessione di rete viene persa nel mezzo della comunicazione.
IllegalStateException in Java
IllegalStateException è la sottoclasse della classe RuntimeException e quindi è un'eccezione non controllata. Viene generato esplicitamente dal programmatore o dallo sviluppatore dell'API. Viene lanciato quando una chiamata a un metodo non è valida o un metodo viene chiamato in un momento errato.
Ad esempio, una volta avviato un thread, non possiamo riavviare nuovamente lo stesso thread; se proviamo a farlo, lancia un'eccezione di runtime, ovvero IllegalStateException .
